Natural Factors PQQ-10 combines BioPQQ® pyrroloquinoline quinone with 200 mg of naturally fermented CoQ10 in a convenient once-daily softgel. PQQ is a naturally occurring quinone compound with antioxidant activity and is involved in cellular signaling. Natural Factors uses BioPQQ®, produced through a patented fermentation process in Japan. Clinical Research Highlights
Human research on supplemental PQQ has explored its role in healthy cognitive performance. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of healthy adults, approximately 20 mg of PQQ daily for 12 weeks was associated with improvements in several measures of cognitive performance, including memory, attention, reaction time, and cognitive flexibility compared with placebo. The specific PQQ material and study population differed from this finished Natural Factors product, so these findings should be viewed as ingredient-level research rather than evidence that this product produces identical results.
A separate randomized controlled trial using 20 mg BioPQQ® daily for 12 weeks in healthy older adults also evaluated attention and visual-spatial cognitive performance, with some measures favoring the PQQ group.
